Planning a wedding - to anyone who got married in a church?

Question: Planning a wedding - to anyone who got married in a church?

Hello, My partner and myself our going to see our local Vicar tomorrow for our first appointment. Is it likely that he will get out his diary and book us in for a wedding date on the first appointment? What kind of questions is he likely to ask? Many thanks in advance for your answers. Kind regards

Yes he will book your date for you on 1st appointment, both my husband and I had been married before so it was slightly more daunting for us as we felt we could be on trial for past mistakes but everything went fine, he asked us how long we had known each other, whether we had any children and how they would fit into our lives. Of course it would be different for you if this is your first marriage so dont be concerned, he cant turn you down ! Good luck.

Yes its very possible that he will book you guys on the 1st appointment... mine did. And he usually asks stuff like...where did you guys meet, where are you from , how long have you been together what kinds of things do you all do etc basically just getting to know you guys.... it will be fine don't worry about it. lol :D

Be prepared to give him at least 2 dates. he will ask religious affiliation, commitment, size of the wedding and other details.

It depends on your religion. My Catholic priest asked us both for baptism documentation, about how we met and how long we've been dating, what we each do for a living, our ages, if we lived together and if we were entering into marriage willingly. We also took the FOCCUS Test, which is a scantron questionairre about our views toward all different things ... money, religion, sex, children, family, friends, domestic abuse, etc. We haven't gotten the results back yet, but other Catholics have told me that he just looks at the results and tells us what our strengths and weaknesses are (for example, "You have some different views toward saving money, so be sure to talk about that and sort out a plan before you get married and combine funds ").
