Have you talked with your groom? Does he have a preference? Personally, I think if you yourself do not have a strong preference . . . then wed the way your groom wants to wed. See the Knot. theknot.com/ If you decide you want the big wedding, there are a wedding checklist and a budget calculator here that you may find helpful. You will see them on the left, under "planning tools. " Don't want the big wedding? google.com/ Do a google search for "elopement packages " plus add the location you desire. Here is one example of an elopement package. elopetothemountains.com/ package.html Good luck with your planning.

Take your time. Follow your dream what ever it is. Weather outside or a church or running a away,it is your day. think about it and talk to people then make up your mind. There are so many wedding magazines out there you could have a field day with all the ideas out there. So just relax have fun with it.

If you've been engaged since June and haven't given the wedding a single thought since then, I'd say save the money and go elope. Weddings aren't cheap and if it's not really important to you why waste the cash? Use the money to go on a really nice honeymoon instead or save it to buy a house or pay down debt. I really wanted the beautiful, traditional wedding but we couldn't afford it so I settled for doing a wedding that fit in our budget. In retrospect I wish we had just gone to Hawaii on got married on the beach and saved the money. I didn't get what I wanted for my wedding anyway and my husband has held the cost of it against me ever since. Ours was inexpensive but he didn't want a wedding at all.

Well what is important to you & your fiance? I have been engaged since March and we just decided to have an outdoor ceremony & reception. We are both love nature, and wanted to have our puppies in the wedding so we were limited to the Holiday inn (which is cheap to rent but the cost of food is outrageous), outside, or a town hall. The only way you can make your decision is to decide what type of ceremony to have, and start making some phone calls. You may find that certain venues you thought you would like won't work for you. Good luck!

I'M HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I DON'T KNOW WHETHER I'M GOING TO LAS VEGAS, MIAMI (WE LOVE IT THERE AND HIS DAD IS FROM CUBA BUT LIVES THERE), OR GETTING MARRIED IN MY HOME TOWN. JUST FOLLOW YOUR HEART AND YOU'LL BE OK
